As more and more foreign companies have established themselves in China, the Chinese legal system has also been reformed and today offers an effective system for patent law and enforcement of these rights. However, it can be difficult to know in which situations you benefit from patent protection in China, and what you risk if you try to use the patents. The Chinese system, like all others, has certain distinctive features that affect how companies should design their patent strategy from a long-term perspective. This seminar is a repeat of our webinar of the same name from the autumn.
It can be difficult to assess opportunities and risks when a Western company is considering accusing a Chinese company of patent infringement. Rouse has therefore developed the CIELA database, with statistics from over 30,000 patent processes in China over the past 15 years.
