Peeraya is a Principal, Deputy Country Manager and Head of the Dispute Resolution Team of our Thailand business. 

Peeraya is a distinguished legal professional, who leads our exceptional Thai Dispute Resolution Team. She joined Rouse in September 2008 with an extensive academic background in law, with degrees from the prestigious Chulalongkorn University in Thailand and Queen Mary, University of London. 

Peeraya represents clients in a wide range of contentious disputes and IP enforcement matters, with a particular focus on patent, trade mark, and copyright disputes. She has an outstanding record of success in handling numerous IP-related civil and criminal litigations before the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court (IPIT Court), the Court of Appeal for Specialized Cases, and the Supreme Court of Thailand, including appeals to reverse decisions of the Department of Intellectual Property’s Trademarks Board. 

Recent major cases she has handled include: 

• Patent infringement action involving hard disc technology for a Japanese industrial company as part of a cross-border litigation case against an American competitor. 
• Patent cancellation and infringement actions involving hand-held engine for a Japanese industrial company against Thai importers. 
• Civil and criminal actions against websites streaming foreign sports programmes. 
• Criminal actions against parallel import and counterfeit medicine. 
• Civil actions to appeal and reverse decisions of the Department of Intellectual Property’s Trademarks Board, at the IPIT Court of First Instance through to Supreme Court. 

Peeraya's non-contentious work includes reviewing and advising on commercial IP-related agreements for Thailand and other countries. She has also provided valuable counsel on advertising clearance for multinational technology corporations and multinational financial services corporations, amongst others.
