Friedrich Scheele is a German Patent Attorney and European Patent, Trademark and Design Attorney. With a background in mechanical engineering, he advises clients on obtaining and enforcing intellectual property rights in Germany and throughout Europe.

His technical focus lies in automotive engineering, machine tools, medical technology, electronics, and electrical appliances. Friedrich has conducted infringement proceedings before several German Regional Courts (Landgerichte) as well as nullity actions before the Federal Patent Court (Bundespatentgericht) and, on appeal, the Federal Court of Justice (Bundesgerichtshof), in the fields of mechanics, electronics, and software. These include proceedings before the Federal Court of Justice concerning computer-implemented inventions.

He also advises on trademarks and designs, including clearance searches, filing strategy at national, EU, and international level, oppositions, invalidity actions, and enforcement.

Friedrich graduated in mechanical engineering from the Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg in 1993, specialising in computer-aided engineering and computational dynamics, and has worked in intellectual property since 1997. Before joining Rouse, he was a founding partner of a Munich-based patent law firm. Prior to that, he was a Munich-based partner of a US-based international law firm. He holds the university diploma “Patent Litigation in Europe” from the University of Strasbourg and represents clients before the Unified Patent Court.
